A Different David Friedman

A Trump advisor named David Friedman has been announced as his choice for ambassador to Israel. At least one news story on the event had my picture and I have just gotten an invitation from the Indian embassy to a Hanukkah event.

Not me. But the Picture is

You should definitely go to the Indian Embassy's Hannukah event! If you really want to mess with them, go as Cariadoc.

Awww, the picture link is dead now.

You should definitely go though. Make sure to talk about policies you would support without ever mentioning that you're not eh David who's getting the job where those opinions matter.

Do your part to sow a tiny seed of confusion.

Hahaha, delicious confusion, I so agree with the preceding speakers.

I wonder if some other David Friedmans (mentioned on your web page: the Hawaiian artist David Friedman, the composer David Friedman, the fix-what's-wrong-with-government David Friedman, the legendary film pornographer David Friedman, the economic journalist David Friedman) will also make appearances at diplomatic parties.

You are not the future embassador? Hanukkah Sameaja anyway

Remembering the line on your website homepage, I came to the blog today hoping for a post like this one. Please provide updates should the confusion continue.

Maybe you can use it to your advantage. Get invited to a TV show and then surprise them on the air.

Heard Democracy Now radio interviewing you yesterday, David. You sounded as if you knew of what you spoke. Congrats.

I was wondering about that, especially after seeing a picture that looked remarkably like you!

Savor the moment...

Easy for me to say, but you should go. You can always plead mistaken identity and you will have a chance for some citizen diplomacy.

Thanks for clearing that up. When I heard "your" name on the news, I definitely wondered, then the crap-storm of indignation began and I knew it wasn't you, though it is nice to see the confirmation here in writing.

This immediately made me think of your chapter on the economics of theft.

Hi David,

Just a heads up, your website seems to have gone offline. I was going to send one of your old articles to a friend when I noticed (and it's behind paywalls on the other sites). Any idea when it will be back up? Thanks.

Damn! I hate to have to do this but... it's been over a month without any new posts here. It's probably time to roll this blog up and shut 'er down. We don't want to clutter up cyberspace with a dead blog.

Btw, David: In your title header, "Whatever I feel like talking about", should be "whatever I feel like writing about"> You're writing here, not talking.
